Biography
Elito Villaflor Circa, better known as Amangpintor, is a famous Filipino painter internationally recognized for his "blood and hair" folk art. He popularized hand, fingers, and nails painting performances called "PintAwit," not only in the Philippines but globally. As a father of Indigenous Art, he influenced many artists to use indigenous materials as a paint medium. His passion has taken him to various countries, showcasing his talent and promoting his Indigenouism Art movement, a campaign against global warming.
A multi-awarded artist since his childhood until now received various awards from different institutions especially from DFA Philippine Embassies and National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA).
His work has been featured in local and international newspapers and TV stations, including the History channel, CNN, Ripley's Believe It Or Not, Reuters, and other online media.
As an advocate of a healthy lifestyle, he consistently incorporates healing colors into his paintings. For those facing illness or stress, the scientific relief can be found in the strokes, movements, and colors he employs. Beyond being visually captivating, his paintings delve into spiritual beliefs and futuristic ideas concerning humanity.
In addition to his artistic pursuits, he serves as an I.T. Robotics and Mechatronics Automation consultant, Computer System Analyst, and developer. He is a 3D Animator, a champion in short film making, a songwriter, and an editorial cartoonist. His work has been featured in local and international newspapers and TV stations, including the History channel, CNN, Ripley's Believe It Or Not, Reuters, and other online media.
He is also helping the rural communities thru Medical, Dental and Art Mission and inspires the children thru his actual hand painting demo and giving Lapis, Papel at Krayola" as prizes for the question and answer part of his art talk.
