Gilbert Enriquez, also known as Berto, was born in Obando, Bulacan. Aside from painting, he indulges in photography as a hobby. Additionally, he assists in the management of their family-owned agricultural farm in the province of Tarlac.
The beauty that our Creator has bestowed upon His creations serves as a profound inspiration for him. Gilbert strives to capture this beauty in his paintings, creating beautiful, realistic, and true-to-life renditions of nature, flowers, and portraits.
He holds a deep affection for the spontaneity and immediacy of watercolor. While he occasionally employs oil as a medium, the majority of his artwork is created using watercolor. In this medium, he believes that patience is a crucial virtue to uphold. With his trained eyes and unwavering patience, Gilbert meticulously paints every intricate detail, from the delicate veins on leaves to the textures of petals, from the precise shaping of eyebrows to the subtle lines of wrinkles in a portrait.
Through his paintings, Gilbert aims to convey messages, with joy, faith, and hope being predominant themes, particularly evident in his floral works.
The artist pursued product design and development technology at the Technological University of the Philippines in Manila.
