Rebie Abas

Rebie is an AB Mass Communication graduate of Far Eastern University. She spent her early years as a radio newscaster, but her career progressed not in the media industry. She has worked in various fields until she was presented with the opportunity to design a house, where she discovered a latent talent for the arts. This discovery became a pivotal career turning point that led her to focus on designing and building homes. During this time, she also found a passion for painting. An unexpected realization occurred while mixing wall paint colors for one of the houses she designed and built.

Rebie's artwork gravitates toward themes of Reminiscence and Nature. She often draws inspiration from films, stories, poetry, and music. Her work resembles a still theater performance or a frozen moment from a movie, evoking stories and memories from the past. Through her art, she narrates her unique versions of these stories. A true Bulakenya at heart, her poetic nature shines through her paintings.

She captures movement and life through her own eyes, embodying the essence of an impressionist artist. Rebie longs for viewers to perceive and feel the narratives behind each of her paintings.
