Rodney James De Guzman
Rodney James De Guzman hails from San Pablo, Laguna, Philippines. His creativity manifested itself at an early age. At the age of ten, he was already drawing with remarkable skill. He would later participate in art competitions and emerge as a winner. There was a brief hiatus from painting when he attended college and started working. However, the allure of art was strong, and he eventually returned to his creative pursuits. Rodney explored various mediums until he became fascinated with watercolors. He acquired the necessary skills and techniques through practice and with the guidance of his mentor, Lito Ballaran, he aspires to take his art to the next level.
In his exploration of portraiture, Rodney strives not only to capture the physical appearance of his subjects but also to convey the emotions felt by the models. For his landscapes, he selects subjects that evoke a sense of calmness and tranquility. Rodney, a man of few words, allows his art to speak for him. What he cannot articulate or express through words is powerfully conveyed in his paintings. Through his artwork, he offers us a rare glimpse into his world.
