Sarah Jean Ongsun
Sarah Ongsun finds fulfillment in painting from life because it allows her to directly observe and capture the intricacies and nuances of her subjects. By capturing these moments on paper, she not only creates art but also preserves a time capsule of her experiences. The sights, sounds, atmosphere, and interactions she encounters while painting become intertwined with the artistic process. Whether it's a still-life arrangement, a portrait, or everyday scenes, she approaches each painting with a deep appreciation for the beauty found in the ordinary.
Her artwork has been featured in various art shows and galleries, both locally and internationally. In 2019, her painting "Donut" garnered the Grand Prize in the 3rd National Watercolor Convention and Exhibit, hosted by the Philippine Guild of Watercolorists and GSIS Museo ng Sining.
