Biography

Dennis is a resident of Victorias City, the son of the late Romeliz M. Valenciano Sr. and a grandson of the late Benjamin D. Valenciano Sr. (sculpture artist of the famous St. Joseph The Worker Parish - Victorias City/ The Church of Angry Christ).

He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Major in Advertising Arts from the College of Architecture and Fine Arts of La Consolacion College – Bacolod, and worked as NLE-Editor/Video Graphics for ABS-CBN. He is a freelance graphic/web designer and illustrator with International clients mostly from Europe and the USA. He also worked as a character designer in apple games and commissioned to do caricatures of ABS-CBN M.O.R DJ’s that aired on local TV.

Valenciano is versatile in his art, mastering different mediums such as watercolor, oil, pastel, and acrylic. But what sets him apart is his unique method of using coffee as his medium. Valenciano challenges the idea of the drink and brings coffee beyond the cup and onto the canvas. He highlights the versatility of the drink and his skill is evident with how he captures the many shades of the liquid and expresses them in his works.

He had his exhibits in different malls, museums, galleries and had his International exhibit at Tanglin Club, Singapore.  Last May 2020 Dennis Valenciano placed in 9th out of 580 entries worldwide in the IWS (International Watercolor Society) London Café Gallery & IWS British Isles first international online coffee painting contest. He was one of the three Asians included among the top 10 winners.

Valenciano was also among the top 20 winners in the Art Show Philippines online competition and exhibition launched on May 18, 2020, titled The Filipino: Self-Portrait where his entry was chosen out of the 66 entries nationwide.
