Biography
Adrian Morales was born in Baganga, Davao Oriental, on September 6, 1971. He is a self-made man who rose to the challenge of reinventing himself as a farmer into an established visual artist.
He took up Mechanical Engineering studies at Notre Dame College in Cotabato. He moved to Manila in 1992 to apprentice under his uncle, William Yu. Known for his modern take on Philippine folk art combined with abstract geometric forms, he paints with a cubic vein in limited palettes that are bold and expressive, using heavy outlines to provide definition and structure. His intense and vibrant hues, combined with his cross-grained textures, are known to mesmerize viewers and get them lost in his works.
Morales' first exhibit in Bacolod City in 1997 was a sell-out sponsored by Samantha and Jan Dale during the city’s Maskara Festival.
