Biography
Koi master painter and nature artist Angelito "Jo" Florendo is a self-taught artist who developed his style of elegant impressionism. Rural sceneries and wild forests are typical of his subjects, which depict Tanay, Rizal, where he learned the rudiments of his art. As an established artist and regular exhibitor at famous galleries in the country, he aims to lure more art lovers with his captivating signature style.
He paints landscapes—rice fields and trees, rivers and mountains, flowers and blooms. His favorite subjects are the rudiments of the earth: the barn with the roosters, the mother hen feeding little chickens, and the cool nipa hut surrounded by the wild forest. But he always goes back to his favorite Koi fish paintings.
Florendo's paintings all show the abundance of the world around him from personal experience. His realistic portrayals of his subject matter, through his mastery of transparency and soft brush strokes, add an emotional factor to his works, allowing their viewers to feel as if they are witnessing the scenes of his paintings right in front of them.
