Biography
Arnaldo "Atoy" Apostadero was born in Binangonan, Rizal, in 1962. At the age of 8, he won a drawing contest at his school. During high school, he became a member of the APHS art club. In college, he studied architecture at National University.
In 1980, he became a member of the Angono Ateliers Association, which opened doors for him to participate in numerous group exhibits nationwide and in the US. He created five regional murals commissioned by Nayong Pilipino.
In 1988, Atoy was elected president of the Angono Youth Artist organization, and in 1990, 1998, and the present, he served as president of the AAA (Angono Ateliers Association).
From 1998 to 2000, he conducted various art lessons at Nayong Filipino, Valle Verde, McKinley, and other locations in the Philippines.
His masterpieces depict daily folk life, culture, traditions, and nature in a magnificent combination of colors. Atoy is both a painter and a sculptor, embodying both talents in his work.
