Biography
Edilberto "Bernie" Quinico is a 45-year-old visual artist hailing from Siaton, Negros Oriental, but he was raised in Manila and currently resides in Parañaque.
Over the years, he has harbored a strong passion for sketching and drawing. He recalls that his journey began at the age of 6 when he first picked up a sketchbook. During his elementary school years, his teacher recognized his talent and often entered him into art competitions. This continued from 5th to 6th grade. In high school, he actively participated in art competitions held within his school. However, when he pursued his college education, he temporarily halted his artistic pursuits due to choosing the wrong course.
After completing his studies, he embarked on a career as a seaman, working both locally and abroad. However, the COVID-19 pandemic prompted him to reconnect with his artistic side. He began dedicating time to art again, focusing on creating portraits and exploring oil paintings.
As a visual artist, he considers himself mostly self-taught, continuously honing his skills through personal exploration and practice.
