Biography
Born and raised in the municipality of San Juan, Rizal, Elias Evardone Pernecita Jr. has been a visual artist since; hence, he is a respected architect with several notable projects under his name. These include the restoration of Corregidor's heritage structures, such as Cine Corregidor, and the rehabilitation of the Bureau of Quarantine's façade.
Pernecita works as an architect and designer for various construction firms. He is a bona fide member of the UAP Rizal chapter and formerly served as a city government planning and development officer in San Juan City.
He recently competed in an Architectural Competition organized by the Commission on Human Rights, titled "Freedom Memorial Design Competition." His entry was featured in a coffee table book published by the University of the Philippines, Diliman, as one of the top 112 participants.
As a contemporary visual artist, Pernecita utilizes permanent inks and acrylic paint as his preferred mediums and categorizes his art under neo-expressionism and abstraction.
His works have been showcased in various art venues, including Art Show Philippines, Angkla Gallery, One Gallery, Phil. Art Restorer Society of the Philippines (PARSPA), Luna Galeria, Grey Space Gallery, ARTablado, Nami Gallery, Dry Brush Gallery, Egyolk Street Shop, Kape Kesada Pate Laguna, Ricardo's Amado Cavite, Art Circle Gallery, The Royal Café Gallery Manila, PARSPA Exhibit, Galerie Du Soleil Manila, Gateway Art Fair, Manila Art, and Visayan Art Fair.
