Biography
Frank C. Saycon’s artistic journey began in childhood, when he first discovered a love for drawing. He recalls starting to draw at just eight years old, using sticks in the sand. Over time, this hobby developed into a lifelong passion, guiding his creativity and shaping his artistic identity. God’s love is his inspiration; before each drawing, Frank prays and thanks God for the art he is about to create. He views himself as an instrument of God’s vision, and each painting is a conversation with the Divine. Drawing relaxes his mind and allows him to express his emotions without words, while his compositions are inspired by Biblical scriptures, the beauty of creation, and the colors of nature.
After a successful 25-year career as a seafarer, balancing work with raising two sons, Frank finally returned to his first love: painting. His travels included visits to the Holy Land and the Sacred Vatican in Rome, where seeing the artworks of Michelangelo in person sparked a new determination to pursue mastery in painting. He also serves as a Lay Minister at The Our Father Parish and Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel, integrating faith and art into his life.
Frank’s work conveys purpose, meaning, and devotion. He believes every stroke a painter makes holds intention, and he aims to inspire, uplift, and bring joy to those who experience his art. His favorite subjects include Mother and Child, reflecting on the influence of his own mother, who passed away when he was just one year old. Through his artwork, he honors her memory, expressing love, strength, and the enduring presence of maternal guidance in his life.
Frank’s pieces have evolved into a mature style, blending faith, personal experience, and emotion. Each painting is a testament to his dedication, talent, and desire to share beauty and inspiration with others. Whether through vibrant expression, detailed storytelling, or heartfelt composition, Frank C. Saycon continues to leave a lasting impact on viewers, celebrating art as both a vocation and a calling.
