Biography
Jan Dave Medina Corbilla, a native of Angono, Rizal, has harbored a keen interest in art since an early age. He found inspiration in three established artists from his town—Pepito Vilalluz, Boy Mata, and Weng Unidad—who captivated and influenced him to aspire to become an artist himself. Growing up in Angono, he had the privilege of partaking in numerous memorable experiences in the realm of arts alongside fellow townmates who shared his passion.
In 1991, Jan Dave embarked on his artistic journey, exploring the realms of expressionism and realism. However, there were instances when he had to pause his artistic pursuits to take up employment to support his family. Despite this, his ardor for art never wavered. Jan Dave's primary aim is to craft exceptional artwork that embodies the essence of his hometown, Angono, Rizal, renowned as the Philippines' art capital.
His objective is to portray his town through themes of divinity, nature, and various artistic symbols. As an artist, he endeavors to inspire others to unravel the meaning of life through his creations and find purpose in their own lives. Jan Dave remains enthralled by the transformative power of art, capturing unique perspectives of fleeting moments to share with others.
