Jay Dy

Jay Dy is a visual artist, born in 1973. He discovered his interest in art from his childhood days, drawing and doing arts for school events and projects. His former professional career may have inhibited him from pursuing his passion for the arts, but it allowed him to travel all around Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, exposing him to different cultures and arts from countries across the globe, and he got some of his inspiration and influence through the works of Portuguese, London-based, and French artists.

Nowadays, you may recognize his works as leaning more on minimalist abstract (non-representational) and portrait abstraction, conveying expressions and subtle emotions.

He embraced his fascination with the beauty and meaningful expressions of abstract artworks. His works are made through careful layering of paint, intricately decided to slowly bring out the beauty of an abstract painting. His works don't just bring out one's thoughts; they are also a perfect medium to complement the beautiful architecture and interior design of most modern and contemporary homes, aside from being pieces that stimulate productive conversations.
