Biography
Jennette Dela Pedra is a self-taught visual artist in pursuit of discovering not only her inner talent but more so the vast freedom that could be achieved through art, even as a person with disabilities. She never ceases to create and explore, always striving to reach further and wider to express herself through her crafts. She uses different flat-surfaced mediums like acrylic, gouache, watercolor, and pencil to bring her vision to life. She also delves into mediums with depth, such as various types of clay to form unique sculptures, and even crafts wood furniture.
Spending her time practicing and polishing her work at the age of fifty-six, she believes that talent is not bound by age but rather in God's perfect time. Dreaming is free—all you have to do is spread your wings. Even though she knows that she's still lacking, she summons the courage and resolve to showcase her skills and artwork for others to see, hopefully attracting an audience that can sincerely appreciate her craft.
"These are made by my hands, swayed by the strokes of the wind: by brushes filled with colors forming a unique yet harmonious palette. Creating an image that was once just a figment of my imagination, now free for the world to see."
