Biography
Joseph Nicholas C. Limuaco is a 34-year-old artist who graduated from the University of Santo Tomas with a degree of Bachelor of Fine Arts and Design major in Painting in June 2010. He started drawing when he was in his primary studies. He started drawing anime when he was in his secondary studies, and spent most of his time in the library reading books of art masters and their works.
After his secondary studies, he took a summer workshop at the University of the Philippines. At the aforementioned workshop he enhanced more on his sketching techniques and learned how to tone up a subject. He gradually improved his art and craft skills by navigating his interest from landscape to portrait painting. A sudden paradigm shift in landscape painting using impressionism to realism in portrait platforms. He is currently accepting commissioned art works.
His inspirational old works are known such as Van Gogh, Rembrant, Durer, and Da Vinci. And as for the current modernists such as Ivan Roxas, Vladimir Volegov, Iris Scott, Akiane Kramarik, and John Magne Lisondra.
Limuaco expresses his passion and dedication through his works: “Art is simply an expression of viewing oneself or art is an invention, way of thinking in a box.”
