Biography
Joseph Nicholas C. Limuaco is a visual artist who graduated from the University of Santo Tomas with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Design major in Painting in June 2010. He started drawing during his primary studies and began exploring anime during his secondary studies. He dedicated most of his time to reading books on art masters and their works at the library.
After completing his secondary studies, he participated in a summer workshop at the University of the Philippines, where he further developed his sketching techniques and learned how to enhance subjects. Over time, he honed his art skills and shifted his focus from landscape to portrait painting, transitioning from impressionism to realism. Currently, his works encompass landscape cottages and scenery, female subject portraiture, and the giant robot mecha genre. He primarily uses oil and acrylic paints as his mediums.
Joseph is currently accepting commissioned art works. He draws inspiration from renowned artists such as Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Durer, and Da Vinci, as well as modern artists like Ivan Roxas, Vladimir Volegov, Iris Scott, Akiane Kramarik, and John Magne Lisondra.
For Joseph, his passion and dedication through his works show that “Art is simply an expression of viewing oneself or art is an invention, way of thinking in a box.”
