Biography
Joyce Britanico is a visual artist based in Quezon City, who used to work as a realtor for more than a decade, is an alumna of the University of Santo Tomas with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts majoring in Advertising Arts. She returned to the world of aesthetic creativity by establishing her studio practice in 2020. With her vivid palette, deft brushwork, and whimsical style, she conveys much-needed lightheartedness and optimism through her personal and commissioned pieces. Her works unfold her inner child, displaying the goals and potential power of a child's dream, joy, and fortitude amidst our contemporary lifestyle. She aims to provide more content, value, and techniques in inks and graphite sketches by employing poignant voluntary hand movements and imaginative strokes that reveal an unpredictable impact.
In addition to her artistic pursuits, she is a trained art conservator who has worked on preserving the works of local masters such as Manansala, Malang, Alameda, and Edades, as well as other international artists. Furthermore, she was a semi-finalist in the 1st Rene Robles Art Competition (2023) for the non-representational division and was also featured as an invited artist in the November 2021 issue of the Philippine Tater's Alphabet City magazine.
