Biography
Marissa Lina Odiaman Molino grew up and came of age in the small province of Pateros, Rizal, the place mentioned in Noli Me Tangere by our national hero, José Rizal. At a young age, she already wanted to share her art. Although she did not have the opportunity to attend college or formally study Fine Arts, this did not stop her from embracing her passion for art.
In 1995, she began working at a Philippine animation studio as a cel painter. Later on, she became an assistant animator (C.U.I.B.) and in 2004, a figurine designer. As traditional artistry in animation studios declined and was replaced by computer-based animation, she adapted by learning how to use Toon Boom, a type of animation created through computers.
In 2016, she was able to return to the animation industry. However, in 2018, she had to leave again to take care of her sick father. Eventually, her father passed away. After facing many challenges, she started over and rediscovered her passion for art through creating Malate art or Filipiniana artwork as a way to earn a living. Many people supported and appreciated her work.
In 2019, she became more involved in visual arts and joined her first group, the Association of Artists of Novaliches, located at Robinsons Novaliches across from SM Fairview.
