Nathaniel Esguerra

Nathan Esguerra is a self-taught artist based in Bulacan. He focuses on figurative and animal themes that examine the subjects’ beauty and their vulnerability. His style is realism in muted colors with a contemporary look. The interplay of light and shadows is always evident in his paintings.

He used to work in tech companies as a project manager, but circumstances in the year 2020 like the pandemic and caregiving to his ailing father, led him to revisit and reignite his childhood passion in art. Since then, he has joined a couple of Makati-based gallery group shows, and continuously delved into art full-time.

For him, a simple and easy way to do art is by observing the things he is surrounded with like by-objects that may be deemed mundane, or just the calmness emanated by a sleeping pet.

For Esguerra, by heightening your senses and taking in your surroundings, you are living in the moment.
