Biography
He started venturing into painting during his elementary years. At the age of seven (7), he had already competed in several on-the-spot painting contests and consistently placed among the top three winners. Those experiences opened his interest and eyes to pursue painting, which became his passion.
Back in high school, he was part of the Young Artist Club of Saint Joseph’s College in Quezon City. Every Friday, he immersed himself in painting sessions that honed his creativity and painting skills. However, his parents insisted that he take a course related to medicine or science. Being an obedient son, he pursued a Bachelor of Science in Psychology to appease his parents and graduated from Our Lady of Fatima University.
His interest in painting was temporarily shelved during his college years, and he focused on his studies. He later returned and rekindled his passion for painting when he started working in the corporate world as a recruitment specialist. He realized that drawing and painting were innate in him and looked at them as his never-ending passion.
Slowly, he perceived his desire to go back to his first love, which was painting. For two (2) years, he got serious about art and studied general knowledge in painting. He came to know the basics of painting, the process of paint application, mixing tonal values of paints, combining colors, and achieving the right proportions in drawings. He studied an associate degree in fine arts at Global Knowledge in Boni, Mandaluyong City. He tried to study and enhance his painting skills while working in the corporate world. After studying the basics of oil painting, he must say that the rest was self-taught by watching videos of oil painting on YouTube, reading books about drawing and painting, and even having small talks with different artists. These experiences helped him hone and explore his skill in painting.
His first love is painting. Drawing is intuitive for him. When he paints, he can express his emotions and put them in a different dimension. He finds satisfaction, tranquility, and happiness when he is painting. Painting is an expression of his creativity.
