Biography
Ronald Lopez of San Miguel, Bulacan started painting in 2003. He grew up in a rural countryside where rice was the main crop. Inspired and challenged by the works of Hans Thoma, he taught himself how to paint and decided to pursue the discipline of realism. His subjects are anything that urges his passion, mostly rural scenes. Lopez also painted portraits with his exceptional skill for accuracy.
In 2019, he had his first exhibit at Gateway Gallery in Araneta Center. Followed by another until the pandemic strikes. Lopez's main goal is to share the beauty of the Philippine countryside. Though Lopez always takes his time with his process, he still maintains the elements of discipline, design, and execution. He paints his art by demanding from himself the highest standard of excellence, and continuing to aspire to the highest quality attainable.
