Ruben Orense

Ruben B. Orense was born in Cawongan, Padre Garcia, Batangas, Philippines, on November 9, 1963. He works at Toei Animation Philippines as a background artist for popular shows such as One Piece and Dragon Ball. He attended the National Museum Art Workshop from October 25 to December 6, 1986, and the Pasig Group Art Lesson under Mr. Cenon Rivera (U.S.T. Professor), Mr. Federico Estrada (Pasig Artist), and Mr. Marlon Marco (Visual Artist). He has received awards and citations in painting, including the following: Fourth Place, Portraiture Special Award in the 1983 School Painting Competition; Finalist in the 1986 P.A.P. National Painting Competition Metro Bank; and a Special Award in the On-the-Spot Painting Contest by the Commission on Human Rights in 1989.
