He paints landscapes – rice fields and trees, rivers and mountains, flowers and bloom. His favorite subjects are rudiments of the earth: the barn with the roosters, the mother hen feeding little chickens, and the cool nipa hut surrounded by the wild forest. But he always goes back to his favorite Koi fish paintings.
Florendo's paintings all show the abundance of the world around him from personal experience. His realistic portrayals of his subject matter, from his mastery of transparency and soft brush strokes, add an emotional factor to his works, allowing its viewers to feel as if they are witnessing the scenes of his paintings right in front of them.
