Edgardo Granada

Edgardo was born in Malibay, Pasay. He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts major in Advertising at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila. He is a professional graphic designer and consultant. When he graduated from college in 1987, every lent season Edgardo would help his community and especially his dad who is the director of the passion play. He would design and create a backdrop for free and worked as a lighting director. This religious tradition is more than 100 years old and founded by his great grandfather which was handed down from generation to generation. his advocacy is the preservation of our culture and tradition. 

Since childhood, Edgardo knew he was gifted. He is not only an artist but he is also a musician. He played the clarinet at the University of Sto. Tomas Brass Band for his scholarship. In 1982, his first experience as an artist  started at the Ayala Museum sponsored by the Ayala Foundation, Inc. He learned the technique in watercolor painting under the supervision of watercolorist Mr. Elmer Gernale. In 1987, he worked in a well-known graphic design studio and later moved to the corporate world as head of the advertising department. After that, he worked as an associate for graphic design for Architect Albert S. Yu and later, he established his own graphic design business for a number of companies. While doing graphic design and digital works, he  joined the competitions among them are the Breakthrough Digital Art Competition 2007 which he was one of the finalists, the 1st Philippine Graphic Design Awards, where he won merit awards, and finalist in 2010 with ad agencies joining in that competition. In 1998, he won 1st place Ramon Orlina Trophy at the Philippine Centennial Decor Competition held at Cultural Center of the Philippines. After a few years, he moved to the Caribbean Islands. He worked as a contract graphic designer and illustrator in
Edition Henri Deschamp, a French Publishing Company, and later became a Hotel Stock Manager in a big hotel where he learned to speak Creole mixed with French. Even when he worked in the hotel, in his free time, he would paint.
