James M. Sanorjo Jr., a distinguished alumnus of Bicol University in Legazpi City, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Education, majoring in Drafting Technology, in 1991. After obtaining his licensure in 2001, he embarked on a rewarding 22-year career as an educator, inspiring successive generations of budding talents with his passion for the arts.

 

James’s artistic prowess earned recognition when he won the Grand Prize in the prestigious 17th GSIS National Painting Competition in 2022. His award-winning masterpiece, “Ugaliing Gawin,” poignantly captures the act of handwashing, conveying a profound message about societal responsibility. In this piece, delicate hands cradle Goldy, the Golden Bird, an emblem of boundless prosperity.

 

Goldy’s narrative unfolds across canvases, his ethereal presence resonating with viewers. In his latest venture, Goldy is accompanied by Nestor and Nesty, companions that convey emotions, thoughts, and experiences emphasizing the importance of nurturing and caring for nature.
