James M. Sanorjo Jr, a distinguished alumnus of Bicol University in Legazpi City, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Education, specializing in Drafting Technology, in 1991. He obtained licensure in 2001 and embarked on a rewarding 22-year journey as an educator, imparting his fervor for the arts to successive generations of budding talents.
James's artistic prowess garnered recognition when he clinched the Grand Prize in the esteemed 17th GSIS National Painting Competition in 2022. His award-winning masterpiece, "Ugaliing Gawin," poignantly captures the act of handwashing, carrying a profound message of societal responsibility. In this piece, hands delicately cradle Goldy, the Golden Bird, an emblem of boundless prosperity. Goldy's narrative unfolds across canvases, his ethereal presence resonating with viewers.
In February 2024, Goldy ventured forth once more, this time accompanied by an ensemble of companions, in the exhibition "Dabirdkads." Now, as May approaches, Goldy yearns to spread his wings anew, delving into his natural habitat in the eagerly anticipated showcase titled "Habirdtat," alongside his kin. This habitat, meticulously depicted, mirrors the ecological and environmental sanctuaries where Goldy and his ilk thrive, seeking sustenance, shelter, and companionship for the perpetuation of their species.
