Jay Vincent Gatdula is a visual artist from Alfonso, Cavite. He studied B.S. Industrial Engineering at Cavite State University. He is one of the nine members of KALATAS-Kasanayang Lakbayin Taglay ang Sining, a collective of artists who completed Art Show Philippines' first mentoring program.
The main element of his artworks is the "sawali", a typical walling material of traditional Filipino homes. Jay Vincent developed his own style using this as his prime component and dubbed it "Sining Sawali," where he weaves two different acrylic paintings together to form a single art piece.
In 2019, he was commissioned to do the "Assumption of Virgin Mary", a mural painting on the ceiling of Biluso Chapel in San Vicente Ferrer, Silang, Cavite. The year after his ACEO (Art Cards Editions and Originals) series entitled "Larong Pinoy" was featured in Rappler. He has donated an artwork entitled "Maganda Ka Pa Rin" a portrait of Josephine Bracken, which became part of the Museo ni Jose Rizal Fort Santiago's permanent collection.
He participated in various art exhibitions hosted by Art Show Philippines and other organizations, such as "Playlist: We're Painting Your Song," Ricardo's Galeria Al Fresco, Amadeo, Cavite (February 2022), "Intramuros: Artists’ Perspective in Plein Air," Museo ni Jose Rizal Fort Santiago, Manila City (March 2022), and "Metamorphose: Breaking Conventional Art, Fora Mall, Tagaytay City (June 2022).
