Jeffrey Mercado was born in Calamba, Laguna, but grew up in different parts of the country. In his younger years, he would draw cartoon characters and doodles, but he has no confidence in his artwork. His interest in art evolved from drawing to making collages from magazine cut-outs. While he was expecting his first child, the artist ventured into painting using acrylic paint. His artworks are inspired by the different experiences and memories he has had in his life.    His artworks would express different kinds of emotions and would also show different ethnic art forms that the artist encountered.
