Artist Profile

Jerome Francisco

Jerome Francisco

True to his bloodline, Jerome Francisco of Tanay, Rizal, an "apo-sa-tuhod" of Botong Francisco, was a born artist. He was just a high school student when he joined a hotly contested Nemiranda competition, besting more than 500 entries to win a scholarship in the esteemed artist's art school.

Jerome has a unique interpretation of the traditional subject of nature painting. He grew up in Tanay, Rizal where nature is abundant. Here he developed a deep love for the natural surroundings such as waterfalls, creeks, and the surrounding hills. He is also fascinated with decaying forms of nature such as aged trees, old vines, and rocks. He admires the delicate beauty of wildflowers and the harmonious colors they add to nature.

He creates a deep spiritual connection to his environment. His love of the land is evident in his energetic and color-filled paintings. The works eventually became an interpretation of his experience with the environment. His love for nature is clearly exhibited in his works with his elegant portrayals of the world around us.

Jerome has a long list of successful solo and group exhibits that includes shows in galleries in Singapore, Malaysia, and the US.
