Jirah Millano, a 24-year-old Filipina artist, is the creative mind behind Tinta sa Abaka. She utilizes India ink on locally crafted abaca paper to portray Philippine historical sites, folk dances, and indigenous wildlife. The artist introduced this distinctive style in October 2022, blending mediums that are durable and reflect the Filipino heritage theme of her artworks.
Jirah actively participates in local heritage advocacy groups like Renacimiento Manila, Urban Sketchers Manila, Philippine Botanical Art Society, and Philippine Fauna Art Society. Through her visual art, she aims to raise awareness about the state of local architectural and natural heritage.
