A true creative all her life, JL Timbreza-Siao is not a fan of idle hands. She always finds ways to tinker and create. After getting her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from UP Diliman, she explored and pursued her passions. She wears many hats: visual artist, graphics and website developer, 3D interior designer, carpenter, baker, and—perhaps the most challenging—wife and homeschooling mom of 3.
JL likes highly textured art with vibrant, popping colors. Her "Death by Dessert" series, which she began in Hong Kong in 2016, is representative of this. These artworks are the latest in Timbreza's "Death by Dessert" series. These highly textured acrylic and mixed media paintings feature "Awnny," a dying ant with a message: Not everything that looks, tastes, and feels good is actually good. Too much of a good thing can lead to death—either physical or the death of one's values, aspirations, and morals.
