Raymond Tesoro Cruz, Ilocano half Bulakeño. Born in Malolos, moved to Manila, now living in Rizal, somewhere along the way he fell in love with art and music. A contemporary artist inspired by the aesthetic principles of Asian Art, Wabi-sabi and Abstraction. He works with various mediums including photography, mixed media, and painting.
The artist’s works are more of a suggestion rather than descriptive — it revolves around the concept of self-expression and the paradox of emotion and the impassive. Working with the boldness of black and the infinite possibilities of white. His pieces reflect not only the contrast between shadow and highlight but also their interaction and interdependence. Within his practice, he integrates his response to what he feels, see, hear and experience; embracing the unknown, uncertainty, and imperfection.
