Rovart Cagayat is a flexible painter, sculptor, and carver, and he is also into sugarcraft modeling. He was born and raised in Paete Laguna, a town known for its generations of skilled artisans. He started his painting career at the age of 21 and was one of the top 10 finalists in the Metrobank Foundation National Painting Competition 2000 with the artwork entitled “NAGBABADHA”. Rovart is known for his creations inspired by “Batang 80’s at 90’s”. Most of his artworks are culturally defined, and they use vibrant and bold media with unexpected color combinations.
His perseverance led him to venture overseas and become a professional culinary artist at the Radisson Blu Hotel Dubai, Deira Creek, and Dubai World Trade Center. He was hailed twice as the Best Artists of the Emirates Culinary Guild Year 2011-2012 Sial Abu Dhabi, which included Open Showpiece, Chocolate Carving, Ice Carving, and Vegetable Carving.
With 18 years of experience as an artist and sculptor, Rovart has won 22 gold, 42 silver, and 31 bronze medals. He believes his skills were refined by constant research and motivation.
