Ruben Jasareno conceived his first KableArt in 2018. The style and execution, inspired by upcycled materials transformed into faceless yet elaborate human characters, were discovered by the artist within this niche. Being completely self-taught, the artist's vision enabled him to perceive art in mundane everyday objects.
With a background in Theater Arts, a medium that utilizes the body and its exaggerated and grand movements to convey emotions to a vast audience, the artist's inclination towards emotive human figures in KableArt pieces is explicable. Despite lacking facial features, these figures are posed and shaped to narrate stories and capture moments of everyday Filipino nuances, which may appear ordinary but evoke a positive environment and a sense of familiarity and nostalgia among people from all social classes.
