The term “Reborn” propels this exhibition by Jao Mapa, on view at drybrush Gallery - SM North EDSA - Interior Zone this September, presenting works as a visual metaphor to the ecstatic feeling of creating art, allowing the artist to make new beginnings and feel brand new. Each works are consisted with the artist’s fragment of happiness, and evolving cycles of life.

Vitamin Sea by Justine Velasquez
Justine’s Vitamin Sea series perfectly exhibits the artist’s mastery of resin as his medium, showing how he created a fluid pattern on the wooden board which gives the illusion of movement. We can see how his interest in topography influenced his work. View them at drybrush Gallery SM North EDSA - Interior Zone.

Common Ground
In this two-man exhibition, Common Ground, Astrid Anabo and Row Bean Paz draw narratives from the dwellers of natural ecosystem and its tranquility. The surreal paintings in this exhibition are envisions of accessibility to the distinctive atmosphere and qualities surrounding the wildlife, capturing the curiosity of natural wanderers within the viewers.

Icons/Repurpose
Lon de Cruz engages the viewers by establishing familiarity with her portrait of iconic subculture personalities including the likes of John Lennon, Angelina Jolie, Freddie Mercury, and even Vincent van Gogh. Through her subject choices, her homage and portrait renditions aim to acknowledge permanence, a sense of legacy by repurposing inanimate materials found in her decluttered house as her main artistic medium.

Train of Thought
Featuring Ariel Villalobos' series of imagination based on experiences from day-to-day scenarios to political and historical expressions, as he takes inspiration from artists Francis Bacon, Zdislaw Beksinski, Fernando Botero, and Manabu Ikeda. The Exhibition is currently ongoing in drybrush Gallery SM North Edsa - Interior Zone.
